Watering in the morning (before 10 a.m.) is the best time to water your lawn; it's cooler and winds tend to be calmer so the water can soak into the soil and be absorbed by the grass roots before it can evaporate.
Midday watering can lead to wasteful evaporation, while nighttime watering can cause droplets to cling to the grass overnight, which can increase the chance of lawn diseases.
